In a live conversation moderated by Jeff Sherman, Nadiyah will share her experiences and perspective on Milwaukee, and the impact she is making both within and beyond our city.

About Nadiyah Johnson: Nadiyah Johnson is a three-time graduate of Marquette University, earning a bachelor’s degree in computer science, a master’s degree in computational science, and a Ph.D. in computer science. Her doctoral research focuses on artificial intelligence and has been recognized at conferences around the world. She currently serves as a professor in Marquette’s computer science department.

Driven by a passion for diversity in STEM, Nadiyah founded Jet Constellations, a Milwaukee-based technology company, and its social impact initiative, the Milky Way Tech Hub. The initiative promotes racial diversity in the tech industry through STEM education, entrepreneurship programming, and a supportive ecosystem for diverse tech professionals and entrepreneurs. Her work is focused on creating educational and technological opportunities in Milwaukee, including the 53206 ZIP code, with a vision of building an inclusive tech ecosystem that can one day be replicated in communities across the country.

Before launching Jet Constellations, Nadiyah worked at GE HealthCare as a technical product manager specializing in data science. She was named to the Milwaukee Business Journal's 40 Under 40 list in 2020 and received its Diversity in Business Award in 2022. Nadiyah and her company also received the Jrue & Lauren Holiday Fund’s Social Impact Fund grant in 2022. She was recognized by Essence for founding WI Tech Month and was named a Woman of Distinction by Milwaukee Magazine in 2024.
