Celebrate the opening night of Milwaukee Flavor Live with rich, nostalgic flavors and stories that honor heritage and family tradition. In this demonstration class, Chef Joe Muench of Black Shoe Hospitality will showcase timeless German comfort food with a soulful twist. Perfect for any level of home cook, this class is all about heartwarming dishes and heartfelt stories.

In this class, you’ll learn to make and sample:
• Pork Schnitzel
• Spaetzle
• Red Cabbage
• Bratensauce - a German gravy

These intimate classes are limited to just 35 guests and often sell out quickly, so we recommend booking early to reserve your spot.

About Milwaukee Flavor Live: Milwaukee Flavor Live is a four-part culinary series presented in collaboration with VISIT Milwaukee and inspired by the Milwaukee Flavor cookbook. Held at the Milwaukee Public Market, each evening highlights one of the city’s most inspiring chefs through a live cooking demonstration, tastings of each featured dish, and personal storytelling that brings Milwaukee’s food scene to life. From globally inspired wood-fired fare to reimagined comfort food, this series offers a flavorful glimpse into the chefs, cultures, and creativity that make Milwaukee a true food city.  

About the Chef: Chef Joe Muench is the co-owner and executive chef of Black Shoe Hospitality, the restaurant group behind beloved Milwaukee spots like Maxie’s, Story Hill BKC, and Blue’s Egg. With deep roots in Milwaukee’s culinary community, Joe is known for his focus on honest, well-executed food and his dedication to honoring the heritage behind every dish.

Free Parking

Parking is available in the Market's main lot just off of Water Street. Make sure to bring your parking ticket to the class for validation.

Cancellation

Reservations are non-refundable, however you may send someone else to take your place. If we cancel a class due to insufficient enrollment, a full refund will be made.

Alcohol Policy

Want to enjoy a beverage during your class experience? A variety of beer, wine, cocktails, and soda are available to purchase during the class. Outside alcohol is not permitted.
