Mary Adashek is back with two traditional recipes that are a must have for Mardi Gras!

The first is based off of a recipe that originated at Central Grocery in New Orleans in 1906 that you can still order today! The Muffuletta sandwich starts with Italian bread that is spread with generous amounts of homemade olive spread and layers of all kinds of delicious cold cuts and cheese.

The second recipe, called King Cake, is festively decorated sweet bread that traditionally has a small trinket baked inside.  It is rumored that whoever finds it will have good luck during the coming year. I think we can all agree, a little bit of luck goes a long way!

Enjoy these recipes as part of your Mardi Gras celebration!
