Smoke, Roots, Mountain, Harvest, Tuesday June 18th, 6:00 PM, $45.00 Book-Signing Event & Tasting

If you enjoy cooking, Lauren McDuffie’s new cookbook, 'Smoke, Roots, Mountain, Harvest', will add exceptional recipes to your collection of favorites.

Written by the creator of the award-winning blog, Harvest & Honey, the book highlights ingredients and cooking methods influenced by her upbringing in the Virginia mountains of central Appalachia. Using modern cooking techniques, she transforms traditional comfort food into inspiring dishes and menus. While the book discusses canning, fermenting, pickling, and preserving, it also includes mouthwatering recipes such as Creamy Squash, Chanterelle Bread Pudding, Buttermilk & Herb Fried Chicken with Hot Honey, and Bourbon Salmon.

McDuffie will lead a discussion about her heritage and philosophy on cooking recipes in the book while samples of Spring Pea Hummus, Beet & Walnut Pasta, and Balsamic & Vanilla Poached Pears are served.

Each attendee will also receive a personally-autographed copy of Smoke, Roots, Mountain, Harvest.
