French cuisine has been influenced by the many surrounding cultures of Spain, Italy, Switzerland, Germany and Belgium, in addition to its own food traditions on the long western coastlines of the Atlantic, the Channeland of course inland.

French cuisine became modern haute cuisine in the 20th century when introduced by Auguste Escoffier; Escoffier, however, left out much of the local culinary character to be found in the regions of France and was considered difficult to execute by home cooks. Julia Child brought French cuisine to the American home with her debut cookbook, Mastering the Art of French Cooking, and her subsequent television programs, the most notable of which was The French Chef, which premiered in 1963. And then, a few years ago, French cuisine exploded again with the release of the movie Julie & Julia.

Invite a friend to join you and sample flavors from Bouillabaisse and Quiche Lorraine to Crepes with Spinach & Roquefort and Beef Bourguignon. Bonus: you'll get to taste her delicious Chocolate & Almond Cake, rumored to be Julia'a favorite dessert!

Free Parking

Parking is available in the Market's main lot just off of Water Street. Make sure to bring your parking ticket to the class for validation.

Cancellation

Reservations are non-refundable, however you may send someone else to take your place. If we cancel a class due to insufficient enrollment, a full refund will be made.
